Health Benefits of Salmon
On the Mediterranean Diet we recommend consuming fish at least twice per week because of the many health benefits. Salmon is a fatty fish that contains higher amounts of unsaturated fats, which are particularly important for heart and brain health. Unsaturated fats are considered “good” fats because they help promote a healthy lipid profile, and they are anti-inflammatory. Salmon is a great source of these healthy fats and a great source of protein.
Health Benefits Of Mango
Mango is not only delicious but so nutritious! Mangoes are rich in vitamin C, folate, and B6. While mango does contain some natural sugars, this isn’t something to be concerned about. The fiber in the mango helps our bodies slowly absorb the sugar, preventing an unwanted spike in blood sugar. The healthy fats and protein in the salmon further slow digestion, allowing our body sufficient time to process the sugar and absorb all the nutrients from the mango. Overall, mango is a healthy food that pairs wonderfully alongside the seared salmon.
