These Chicken Parm Burgers with Arugula are a fun and delicious dinner that everyone will love. The burgers are easy to assemble and made with nourishing ingredients.
These burgers are great for weekend game days, family dinner, or even an easy meal prep lunch.
What Are Chicken Parm Burgers?
Chicken Parm burgers are inspired by the classic breaded chicken parmesan. These chicken parm burgers are not breaded and instead of being served on pasta, they are served on a whole wheat or regular burger bun.
The burger patties are made with lean ground chicken, herbs, parmesan cheese and marinara sauce. The chicken patties are seared on both sides and topped with marinara, mozzarella cheese and arugula.
Is Chicken Parmesan Unhealthy?
These chicken parm burgers are a healthy meal because they are well balanced and will keep you full and satisfied. Here’s why we love these chicken burgers:
- Ground chicken is high in protein and low in saturated fat. This makes it a heart healthy protein source to include in your diet a few times a week.
- Unlike traditional chicken parm, these burgers aren’t breaded or fried so they don’t have extra calories.
- We topped these chicken parm burgers with arugula for a crisp veggie crunch in each bite. Arugula is packed with antioxidants and adds amazing flavor to the burgers.
- Try serving these on whole wheat burger buns if you can find them. Choosing whole grains adds more fiber and minerals to your meal.
The Best Toppings For A Chicken Parm Burger
You can customize the toppings to your liking but our favorite combination is a slice of melted mozzarella, a dollop of marinara sauce and a small handful of arugula. The mozzarella adds a delicious creaminess and the arugula is a little bitter which balances all the flavors. If you don’t love arugula, spinach would be a great alternative.
